A Beer and Hotel Room in Pilsen, Czech Republic

Pilsen was a quick overnight stop we made after landing at the Prague airport.  It is about 1 1/2 hours southwest of Prague.  It’s main claim to fame is Pilsner Urquell, the world’s first pale lager

We stayed at The Hotel Continental for one night.  Very clean hotel a block away from the main square.  We had booked a double standard room, but it didn’t look like the one on the website.  We just wanted a place to sleep the first night of our vacation, which would allow us to drink a Pilsner in the city that produces it and stroll around the town before we left the following day.  It served it’s purpose.  I would have been highly irritated and disappointed if we were staying there for a few days.

The ultimate goal for the first night….

Pilsner Urquell
